REMINDER: The FCC Form 471 application filing window for Funding Year 2015 opens at noon EST on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 and will close at 11:59 pm EDT on Thursday, March 26, 2015.
Commitments for Funding Years 2014 and 2013
Funding Year 2014. USAC will release Funding Year (FY) 2014 Wave 36 Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDLs) on January 14. This wave includes commitments for approved Priority 1 (Telecommunications Services and Internet Access) requests at all discount levels. As of January 9, FY2014 commitments total over $2.11 billion.
Funding Year 2013. USAC released FY2013 Wave 79 FCDLs on January 15. This wave includes commitments for approved Priority 1 requests at all discount levels. As of January 9, FY2013 commitments total over $2.13 billion.
On the day the FCDLs are mailed, you can check to see if you have a commitment by using USAC's Automated Search of Commitments tool.
Filing of Funds Available for Carry Forward
On December 15, 2014, the FCC Managing Director provided guidance to USAC concerning the management of cash reserves while meeting funding commitments for the Schools and Libraries Support Mechanism (DA 14-1820). That guidance changed the method by which reserves are managed and resulted in an increase of the funds projected for carry-forward to subsequent fund years.
On December 23, 2014, USAC submitted information to the FCC responsive to that guidance that projects that a total of $1,575.05 million is currently available to carry forward (Letter on Funds Available for Carry-Forward).
