USAC Issues First FY2018 Funding Wave

USAC released Funding Year (FY) 2018 Wave 1 Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDLs) on April 20 and Wave 2 FCDLs on April 21. We are scheduled to release Wave 3 FCDLs later this week.

The number of wave-ready applications was so large that we had to divide the applications into two groups and issue two waves, one day apart. We will continue to issue an FY2018 wave each week, starting with Wave 3.

Together, Waves 1 and 2 contain funding decisions on over 15,000 applications and almost 24,000 of the Funding Request Numbers (FRNs) featured in those applications. The total amount committed in these first two waves was over $503 million. This means that 43 percent of the applications that were filed in the window received a funding commitment decision from USAC within 30 days of the window close.

Funding decisions in these waves include:

  • Applicants from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and a majority of the territories.
  • All application types: school, school district, library, library system, and consortium.
  • Over 47,000 recipients of service: schools, libraries, and non-instructional facilities (NIFs).

As a reminder, you can access FCDLs in the new .PDF format from the Notifications section of your landing page in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC). In last week's SL News Brief, we described the details of the new FCDL format, and announced the FCDL video demonstrating the new format that is posted in the Online Learning Library on the USAC website.

You can continue to watch the USAC website and refer to your organization's landing page for new FCDLs as we run each week's FY2018 wave.
