TIP OF THE WEEK: Remember that you are required to retain documentation of your compliance with each step in the application process for at least 10 years after the last day to receive service. Now is a good time for applicants to collect and preserve winning and losing bids, evaluation matrices, contracts, and other evidence of your competitive bidding process.

Commitments for Funding Year 2018

Funding Year 2018. USAC released FY2018 Wave 47 Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDLs) on March 1. As of March 1, FY2018 commitments total over $2.17 billion.

On the date that FCDLs are issued, you can access your FCDL notification from the Notifications section of your landing page in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC).

E-rate Program Service Provider Training Now Posted Online

USAC has developed a new, modernized suite of 15 service provider training courses which are designed to mirror the content delivered in the 2018 fall service provider training series. Service providers who were not able to attend the half-day beginner and full-day training sessions in Washington DC can now access these sessions online.

To access this self-paced, modular training, go to the E-rate Program Training section of the Online Learning Library on USAC's website. Click the Service Provider Training Series link to view the full series. Each training course is posted with a description of the training content, length of training module and the recommended E-rate participant experience level.

This training is an online complement to the online training series for applicants.

Update on Latest EPC Release

Earlier this week, we made some changes to specific features in EPC. The changes to these features are described below.

"Copy FRN" feature provides error file for recipient of service discrepancies

Applicants using the Copy FRN feature in the online FCC Form 471 will now get an error message if the list of recipients of service in the Funding Request Number (FRN) they are copying does not match the list of recipients in their current EPC profile. The message will contain a list of the entities that need to be corrected.

These discrepancies can occur if individual entities were added, removed, or changed status (e.g., active to inactive) during updates made to the applicant's organization profile made after the original FRN was created.

Applicants will be allowed to continue working on their form if they ignore the error message. However, before applicants can certify the form, any differences between the copied information and the current EPC profile information must be corrected.

Multiple PIA extensions can be requested online

Applicants are no longer limited to one seven-day extension of time to respond to requests for information by Program Integrity Assurance (PIA). Now applicants can request more than one extension, and all approved requests will allow the applicants an additional 15 days to respond.

FRN line item details accessible for service substitutions

In the past, applicants filing a service substitution could not see the FRN line item details until later in the request process. Applicants can now view the FRN line item details for each of the FRNs while they are working on their service substitutions.
