TIP OF THE WEEK: For most Funding Year (FY) 2020 FCC Form 486 filers, June 30 is the last day to file this form early. If you certify this form after June 30, wait for services to start before filing, and do not check the Early Filing box on the form.

Commitments for Funding Year (FY) 2020 and FY2019

FY2020. USAC released FY2020 Wave 7 Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDLs) on June 18. As of June 19, FY2020 commitments total over $963 million.

FY2019. USAC released FY2019 Wave 63 on June 17. As of June 19, FY2019 commitments total just under $2.39 billion.

On the date that FCDLs are issued, you can access your FCDL notification from the Notifications section of your landing page in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC).

Search Tools Page Updated

The Tools page on the USAC website contains a complete list of the tools that are currently available for public access and provide E-rate Program data, including data about commitments and disbursements.

We have provided updates in the past on individual tools on this page that required code changes in order to move them to a newer, more modern platform. Three tools currently featured on the Tools page were recently updated. They are:

View an FCC Form 470 (FY2015 and prior)

This tool allows users to search for and view a single FCC Form 470 for FY2015 or a previous funding year. The user must first choose the funding year, and then enter one or more search criteria to narrow the search. From the search results, the user can click the magnifying glass icon to the left of the entry in the Applicant Name field to view a specific form.

View FCC Form 471 (FY2014 and prior)

This tool allows users to search for and view an FCC Form 471 for FY2014 or a previous funding years. You must have the FCC Form 471 application number to view the original version of the form, and the security code number to view the current status of the form.

SPIN Search Tool

This tool allows you to search for a service provider by Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) or service provider name to retrieve contact information and other information, such as the funding year(s) for which the service provider has an FCC Form 498 on file with USAC.

In order to move these tools to the new platform, we made some modifications to the existing code, but the tools will continue to function as they have in the past. Because the tools are on a new platform, however, you must update your existing bookmarks.

General page updates

We have also improved the format of the Tools page to make it easier to use.

• The top of the page now features a simple linked list of the tools. If you know the tool you are looking for, you can go directly to the tool.
• The tool details now appear in a two-column list. Each tool's name is on the left with a description of the tool to the right.
• Informational documents appear in the tool description. If we have created a user guide, a set of instructions, or other informational document, you can find a link to it under the description. We will be updating these documents as needed to include a description of any of the modifications we had to make to the tool.
• The names of the tools have been standardized and simplified. It should be easier for you to determine what information is available from each tool just by looking at the name.

As the code for the remaining tools is updated and the tools are moved, we will announce those moves in future SL News Briefs.
